We are currently seeking a talented Lead Ruby on Rails developer who enjoys learning new technologies, solving challenging problems, and building quality software.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a small team of highly experienced developers to design, build, launch, and maintain web applications for a variety of awesome clients across lots of different industries. You will be invited and expected to contribute your ideas, to participate in our agile process, to be willing to learn new skills, to step outside your comfort zone, and — of course — to write amazing code.

Job Location:

Fully Remote. Our team has had remote workers since 2012 and has been fully remote since 2019. We have employees in MO, AZ, CO, NM. MT, NC, MI, ME, OR, IA, IL, etc. with clients scattered across the US.

Responsibilities:

  • Write amazing code.
  • Document your amazing code.
  • Test your amazing code.
  • Peer review the amazing code that other team members write.
  • Participate via webcam in our regular stand-up and sprint planning meetings.
  • Maintain regular hours and accurately track your time and work.
  • Take a self-directed approach to learning new skills and solving problems
  • Remain knowledgeable about security issues.
  • Request support from and provide support to other team members.
  • Control, meet, and exceed expectations.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience developing web applications in Ruby on Rails.
  • Excellent proficiency with CSS / SASS / LESS
  • Excellent proficiency with modern Javascript
  • Excellent proficiency in git
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Empathy for users
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort with the Unix command line.
  • Fluent in English and legally allowed to work in the United States

Desirable Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience with React and Angular
  • Experience with Docker
  • Fluency with AWS services
  • Passion for creating amazing visual interfaces.
  • Proficiency with SQL and database fundamentals
  • Experience with other modern web frameworks (Django, NodeJS/Express, Laravel)

Compensation:

  • $120,000 – $155,000 including regular bonus opportunities
